Introduction

This document explains how to create a site in the One Network system. A site can then be used as a "Ship From" location (pickup) or a "Ship To" location (delivery). A "Ship From" or "Ship To" location exists on the following items: a shipment, a route, and a rate.

Creating a Site

  1. Log on to the One Network system.
  2. Click Administration > Sites.

The Sites Summary page is displayed with a list of the current sites.
  3. To create a new site setting, click New Site.

The New Site page is displayed.

  4. On the New Site page, enter the required information as follows:
    1. Name field – text field; enter the name for the site
    2. Type field – select one of the types such as "DC", "Plant", "Store", or "Standard Site"
    3. Time Zone field – drop-down list of time zones; select one of the time zones for this site
    4. Address field – select the "Address" icon next to this field and enter the site's address. After entering information in the Address popup window, click outside of the popup window to close it.

You can enter additional information such as External Reference Number and Description.
  5. After you enter information, click Create to create a new site.

  6. After the site is created, it can then be used on other UI pages to represent the "Ship From" or "Ship To" location.

These UI pages include: the New Shipment page, the New Route page, the Create Dock Door Group page, the Create Dock Door page, the Create Base/Accessorial/Discount Rate pages, and the Add Lane page.
